Welcome to Runners Broadcast Company: An Introduction
You made it. Welcome to Runners Broadcast Company. First off, if you’re reading this blog that means you’re at least somewhat interested in what we’re doing here at RBC, so thank you for giving us a chance.
In the weeks leading up to our launch (hope you enjoyed our super random hype videos shot in the woods behind my old high school), I was asked the question, “why do you want to start this?”
I can give you a million different reasons why I started RBC... I want to be my own boss one day, I’ve worked on projects in the past that I wish turned out differently, I want to stay connected to my college friends now that they don’t just live right down the hall from my dorm room.
The main reason is simple. I wanted to create something.
That “something” is a platform that lets my friends and I share our experiences with all of you. You might be asking, “why should I care about a group of skinny, awkward, former D2 runners?” Valid question. You don’t have to care about us. However, I think if you take a listen to our podcast, read this and future blogs, get to know us, our stories, and the things we’ve gone through, you may find that we can all relate in some way. I didn’t start this to be a help desk or a “How To be Successful in your Mid 20’s” lifestyle blog. Truthfully, some days I have no idea what I’m doing in life. And that’s the point. We’re all trying to figure this thing out, why not figure it out together?
I created this, with the help of friends and family, to reach people in a positive way. Through each avenue of RBC, we’re going to share stories of success, failure, crazy life lessons we’ve learned, and more. If you’re a runner, great. We’re happy to have you with us. But you don’t have to be a runner to be part of our family. My own wife hates running. Sometimes.
No matter what niche you fall into, we’re going to bring something for everyone. Enjoy talking about football? I’ve been a miserable New York Jets fan my entire life (how about that win on Monday Night!!)
We’ll be discussing football at all levels. And the same goes for every industry. We’re going to dive into sports, music, entertainment, and so much more.
Of course, at our core we are runners. But we’re not focused on fastest times, place, or college commitments as much as we’re focused on the story behind the runner, musician, artist, entrepreneur, or average joe. Everyone has a story, and we’re here to tell it.
So follow along, leave us feedback, and let us know if there’s anything you’d like us to expand on. Thank you for joining RBC on this journey, we’re so glad you chose to run through this life with us (come on, you know I HAD to throw in at least one running pun for my first blog.)
